The Yes List

Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

The Yes List helps you collect and compare engagement and wedding ideas. This policy explains how the app and theyeslist.app handle information.

Your saved ideas

Your boards, briefs, options, photos, notes, image markings, source links, prices and preferences are stored in the app on your device. The app also saves unfinished captures and exchange-rate results so you can continue your work. Your device's backup settings may include this app data in a backup.

You choose the photos you import through Apple's photo picker. The app receives the selected images, rather than unrestricted access to your photo library. It retains the imported original image files locally so you can restore crops and edit markings; those originals may contain metadata supplied with the image.

The Safari extension receives information from the page you explicitly share, such as its URL, title, product details and image links. It passes saved captures to the app through storage shared by the app and its extension on your device.

Loading websites and exchange rates

When you load a source link or select a website image, the app requests the page or image directly from that website or its image provider. Those services receive the requested URL and normal connection information, such as your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply. Opening a source link also takes you to that website.

Currency comparisons request an exchange rate from Frankfurter. The request contains the two currency codes, but does not include your price amount, photos, notes or board contents. Conversion is calculated on your device. Frankfurter states that its public API does not retain personal data, IP addresses or request URLs.

Sharing a board

Sharing is optional and uses Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services. You need an iCloud account to share or receive a board; you do not create a separate The Yes List account.

When you share, the selected options and the board's information are uploaded to your private CloudKit database and made available to the people you invite. Shared information includes the board title and brief, viewing copies of selected photos, visible image markings and their notes, option names and notes, source links, prices, and ordering or preference ranks. Review the content and selection before sending an invitation.

The app uses a CloudKit account identifier to keep sharing associated with the correct iCloud account. Apple manages iCloud authentication and the invitation and participant information used by its sharing controls. The app does not receive your Apple Account password.

If feedback is enabled, comments are stored with the shared board in CloudKit and are visible to its participants. CloudKit records identify the comment's author and creation and modification times so the app can show and manage feedback. You can edit or remove your own comments while your permissions allow it; the board owner can also remove comments.

The app keeps a local copy of received boards for viewing. Changes to a shared board and its access may take time to reach other devices, particularly when they are offline. Recipients can make screenshots or other copies that the app cannot recall.

Apple handles iCloud information under Apple's privacy policy. Your private CloudKit database is not available to us through the developer dashboard.

PDF exports

PDFs are created on your device. You select the options and whether to include details such as notes, prices, sources, ranks and image markings. When you send or save a PDF using the system share sheet, the receiving person, app or service obtains that file. Their handling of it is outside the app's control. A recent export may remain in the app's local cache until cleanup.

Your choices and removal

You can edit your saved information and remove options from a board. Removing an option removes its library entry; original photo files and import records may remain in local app storage to support recovery and prevent duplicate imports.

Owners can use Stop Sharing to remove the CloudKit publication and its feedback. Invited people can leave a shared board. These actions require a successful connection to iCloud, and access changes are recognised on other devices when they refresh. Deleting the app by itself does not stop an existing CloudKit share, so stop sharing first if you want to remove it.

Deleting the app using Delete App, rather than Offload App, removes its local data from that device. Device backups, cloud records and files already saved or sent elsewhere may remain under the relevant service's settings and retention practices.

Advertising and diagnostics

The app does not include advertising networks, cross-app advertising tracking, or third-party analytics and crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may process app usage and diagnostic information according to your Apple and device settings and make reports available to developers through its services. We do not sell your saved board contents or use them for targeted advertising.
